Better for people

To ensure that the employees of our suppliers can work under good conditions, both we and our suppliers are members of amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI). BSCI regularly monitors its members to ensure compliance with human and labour rights as set out in the BSCI Code of Conduct.

This code of conduct covers thirteen principles, including fair wages and reasonable working hours, health and safety in the workplace, no child labour and social protection for young workers, no forced labour, environmental protection, and ethical business practices.

The world needs better cotton

Because we use a lot of cotton in our products, Red Button is a member of the Better Cotton Initiative. This initiative aims to make global cotton production “better” for the people who produce cotton, “better” for the environment in which it grows, and “better” for the future of the industry.

By choosing our cotton products, you support Better Cotton farmers. They use water responsibly, protect biodiversity and the health of their soil, reduce the use of agricultural chemicals, and respect the rights and well-being of their workers.

When it comes to sustainability, it naturally starts with creating garments that are made to last. That is why we test all our fabrics for washability and durability and exclude the use of hazardous substances. Our collection reflects current fashion trends while remaining largely timeless. This means you can continue to enjoy wearing our garments for years to come.

Our efforts go further. In addition to Better Cotton, we also use recycled polyester called REPREVE. This polyester is made from used plastic bottles. By using REPREVE instead of conventional polyester, these plastic bottles are kept out of landfills and our oceans.

More than 30 billion plastic bottles have already been recycled into polyester worldwide. Thanks to REPREVE, no petroleum is needed, fewer greenhouse gases are emitted, and water and energy are saved. A great initiative, right? Look out for our products with a REPREVE hangtag.

By the way… did you know that the pocket linings are made from recycled cotton and polyester, and that all our labels are made from recycled paper? Finally, we would like to highlight that our packaging materials are also made from recycled cardboard and biodegradable plastic.

The way to sustainable shipping

To minimize the environmental impact of our transportation activities, we work with GoodShipping to reduce our CO2 emissions.
